On August 9th, Kendrick Lamar and director Khalid Joseph will debut a 14-minute short film called m.A.A.d, which draws inspiration from K.Dot’s debut LP, good kid, m.A.A.d city. The film will help launch Sundance’s new Next Fest, a mini-film festival that will spotlight talented young directors on the rise.

A short description of the film from FADER‘s announcement:

“a kaleidoscope of storylines and ideas that defy typical categorization to explore new languages and new forms.”

That sounds awesome. Hit the jump to check out a flyer for Next Fest.
